چکیده
Abstract Transparency and perfect absorption are two contradictory terms; a absorber never permits waves to transmit through. However, this statement only remains true in the linear regime, where nonlinearity has been omitted physical system like is not affected by incoming waves. Here we experimentally demonstrate an intriguing self-induced transparency effect perfectly absorbing optical microcavity, which absorbs any at low power level, but allows portion of be transmitted higher due nonlinear coupling between fundamental its second harmonic modes. Moreover, asymmetric scattering nature microcavity enables chiral unidirectional reflection one input ports, leads coherent control states through phase varying. More importantly, such behaviors also empower emission second-harmonic generation with high distinct ratio state. These results pave way for controllable wide range fields optics, microwaves, acoustics, mechanics, matter

Perfectly Matched Layers for time-harmonic second order elliptic problems
The main goal of this work is to give a review of the Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) technique for time-harmonic problems. Precisely, we focus our attention on problems stated in unbounded domains, which involve second order elliptic equations writing in divergence form and, in particular, on the Helmholtz equation at low frequency regime. Firstly, the PML technique is introduced by means of a s...
متن کاملOptical second harmonic generation chiral spectroscopy.
Chiral spectroscopic study: The intensities of second harmonic generation chiral spectroscopy are obtained from the dispersion of the nonlinear optical susceptibility components, as a function of wavelength for helicenbisquinone thin films (see figure). A single formalism fits all the data simultaneously, and the findings constitute an important milestone towards the development of a new experi...
متن کاملAn optimal perfectly matched layer with unbounded absorbing function for time-harmonic acoustic scattering problems
We introduce an optimal bounded Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) technique by choosing a particular absorbing function with unbounded integral. With this choice, spurious reflections are avoided, even though the thickness of the layer is finite. We show that such choice is easy to implement in a finite element method and overcomes the dependency of parameters for the discrete problem. Finally, its...
متن کاملTransmission and reflection in a perfectly amplifying and absorbing medium
We study transmission and reflection properties of a perfectly amplifying as well as absorbing medium analytically by using the tight binding equation. Different expressions for transmittance and reflectance are obtained for even and odd values of the sample length which is the origin of their oscillatory behavior. In a weak amplifying medium, a cross-over length scale exists below which transm...
متن کاملDouble Resonance Self-induced Transparency
An analytic solution is found for SIT with two co-propagating pulses which are doubly resonant with two transitions sharing a common excited state. The pulse shapes are the usual hyperbolic secants, but the areas are not 2n. This solution satisfies the atomic equations exactly for all detunings and arbitrary relative amplitudes for the two pulses. The field equations, however, place extra restr...
